«Internet is the radio of our times but it is also a wonderful tool for deepening the listening of music and discovering talents that otherwise we would have never known. I found out about Marco "Python" Fecchio thanks to Myspace. Marco is a guitar player based in Milan who seems to have been catapulted there straight from the United States.
With a masterful touch on the slide guitar that recalls Ry Cooder and an "attack" which suggests repeated David Grissom listenings, Marco has created his own recognizable sound, halfway between the swamps of Lousiana and the wide open spaces of Texas. New Orleans could be his hometown, but Fecchio's guitar would not be so eclectic without an ear open to other musical universes: from Freddie King's 12 bars, through the backstreets of many American songwriters, to Miles'sketches of blue and Brian Eno's alchemies.
Python, as he is commonly known also around Austin, has a great extra value: his guitar is always working for the song, even when playing the lead. SOme folks noticed it and that's why they wanted his signature stamped on their records or setting fire to their live sets: from his usual traveling companions (Andrea Parodi, Max De Bernardi, Angelo "Leadbelly" Rossi, Max Larocca), to a small bunch of famous Italian artists (Davide Van De Sfroos) to the many American singer songwriters who toured Italy (Patricia Vonne, Eileen Rose, Romi Mayes, Pete Ross, Eric Taylor, Ron LaSalle, just to name few).

E' un meraviglioso strumento che consente di approfondire gli ascolti e scoprire musica e talenti che altrimenti non avremmo mai conosciuto. E' così che mi sono imbattutto in Marco "Python" Fecchio, un chitarrista di Milano che sembra essere stato catapultato nella Pianura Padana direttamente dagli States.
Con un magistrale tocco di slide che ricorda Ry Cooder e un "attacco" alla David Grissom, Marco ha creato un suo suono riconoscibilissimo, a metà tra le paludi della Lousiana e la polvere e i grandi spazi del Texas. New Orleans potrebbe essere la sua città natale ma la chitarra di Marco non sarebbe così duttile se dalle sue parti non fossero passati dischi provenienti anche da universi sonori non proprio contigui: alle le note blu di Freddie King si aggiungono le schegge blu di Miles e i mille ascolti di cantautori delle backstreet americane sono arricchiti dalle sonorità di alchimisti come Brian Eno.
Python, come ormai lo conoscono anche dalle parti di Austin, ha un grandissimo pregio: la sua chitarra è sempre al servizio della canzone, anche quando è protagonista. Di questo si sono accorti quelli che lo hanno voluto al loro fianco: dai suoi compagni di viaggio abituali (Andrea Parodi, Max De Bernardi, Angelo "Leadbelly" Rossi, Max Larocca), a qualche "nome" italiano (Davide Van De Sfroos) ai tanti cantautori e cantautrici americani sbarcati dalle nostre parti (Patricia Vonne, Eileen Rose, Romi Mayes, Pete Ross, Eric Taylor, Ron LaSalle, solo per ricordare qualche nome).
