Archaea II

Archaea refers both to the kingdom of eukaryotic microorganisms able to survive in the most harsh of conditions and the Greek word meaning ancient. This piece is intended to be harsh and played with some violent tendencies as archaca bacteria live in the most unforgiving and drastic conditions living creates are known to thrive in. Likewise, the piece reflects the cruelty, strife and struggle faced by people trying to live in past times long ago. Archaea II is the second part to the piece, Archaea, where the themes presented in the first part are kept true to follow into the second piece in the series.

One very important thing to keep in mind while both practicing and performing this piece is the original arrangement of the song and its predecessor. Both Archaea and Archaea II were composed with the arrangement of both lead and rhythm distorted electric guitars, electric bass, electric organ and a drum set. The entire piece should be played with the intent of a style similar to that of percussion and plucked strings; the overall attack on the notes should have more emphasis on the front proceeding with diminished volume while the note is held.
