DESCRIPTION:
Following the recording of Andrew Cronshaw's 2011 CD The Unbroken Surface of Snow (Cloud Valley CV2009), which features Cronshaw, Armenian duduk master Tigran Aleksanyan, reeds-player/multi-instrumentalist Ian Blake, and the singing of a Finnish runo-song on one track by Finnish singer Sanna Kurki-Suonio, the four of them came together in July 2011 for live shows at Finland's Kaustinen Festival. During these shows it became clear that this is a band. They named it SANS.
This video is a compilation of clips from their first show as SANS; a special intimate event at London's St Ethelburga's on October 23rd 2011.
More appearances will follow in 2012 and onward.
