Tin Whistle Comparison (Generation, Susato, Menager, Abell) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Feb 20, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
Same tune played on 4 different tin whistles in D - Generation, Susato, Menager, Abell

The Slip Jig is "Farewell To Whalley Range"

- The Generation is the most common brand you can find everywhere.
- Susato is not bad but needs more air pressure on the octave. I prefer it in C rather in D
- Menager is the name of the French guy who made it but he doesn't product any more tin whistles. A genius but strange. He didn't want to be known even if he was a mastro. The quality of manufacturing is behind Overton Goldie Whistle but the sound far better.
- Abell is my new Tin Whistle (n° 1840). It's a wonderful one with a marvellous woody sound. I met Abell in Paris for a Flute Event and he is a very humble and delicious instrument maker. I don't regret the budget.
