The official release of "Miriam Hanevia" presents a glimpse into life work of international percussionist Zohar Fresco.
The inspiration for the song derives from the biblical narrative of Miriam the prophetess (Exodus 15, 20) who is mentioned as a lead drummer playing the tof miriam.
The tof miriam has been brought to the forefront by Fresco while devoting himself to research and development of a new fingering technique and music style of playing that enchanting ancient frame drum.

"מרים הנביאה" מציג את אבן הדרך לפרויקט חייו של המוזיקאי ונגן כלי ההקשה זהר פרסקו. ההשראה לשיר מגיעה מן הנרטיב המקראי (שמות טו, כ) בו מוזכרת מרים הנביאה היוצאת בתופים ובמחולות. פרסקו שהביא אל קדמת הבמה העולמית את התוף היהודי העתיק, תוף מרים, מקדיש את חייו לחקר ולפיתוח שפה, טכניקה ומוזיקה העושות שימוש בתוף המסגרת בן אלפי השנים"
