Fear Freestyle (Blue Yeti and Mixcraft rap vocal settings) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Nov 27, 2016
DESCRIPTION:
At the top of Mixcraft, click on "Track" and slide your mouse down the menu window and hover over "Arm recording channel and device". Make sure that Yeti Stereo Microphone is selected. Now click file, preferences, under sound device click the bubble under Wave. Under default recording voice, be sure Yeti Stereo microphone is selected. Under playback device, select speakers Yeti Stereo microhone. Sample rate 44100, number of buffers 32, bit depth 16, Buffer size 65536. Your settings should already naturally match mine, but just to be sure....check them first.

On the back of the microphone select Cardioid pattern and the gain is set to various levels, depending how "busy" the instrumental seems to me. For a simple beat, I set the gain to where the indicator is pointing at the "G" in the word GAIN on the mic. For more complex beats with more sounds that tend to drown my vocals out a little, I set it to where the indicator is pointing at the "N" in the word GAIN on the mic. Usually in that range, I don't have any problems.

One more tip and this ones probably most important. Record your vocals from beginning to end...doesn't matter if you do it in one take or you have to punch in on another track number... Next, highlight all of your finished vocals with your mouse, right click and copy them. Now paste it in an audio channel somewhere below your original verse. Now zoom in and align the COPIED verse to the original. Zoom ALL THE WAY IN TO DO THIS. This will help you align them perfectly. Now highlight all of the pasted and aligned verse, right click it then click "envelopes". Click reduce and choose 50%. Repeat that step and click reduce 25% and once more to choose reduce 10%. Now play your track again and listen how clear you (hopefully) sound and maybe reduce the overall volume of your original verse but only if needed. This is exactly what I do.
