GINGER MAKER : DUB ROCK REGGAE

Ginger Maker is a Dub/Rock/Reggae band from Los Angeles. Over the last two years Ginger Maker has toured extensively opening for the likes of Tippa Irie, Sizzla, and Blackalicious. The record features production by the infamous Koool G. Murder of the Eels/ Donovan Frankenreiter as well Adam Topol of Jack Johnson on drums and dub-mixing by Peter Najera.

The band was founded in a smoke filled house in East Los Angeles on two acoustic guitars in 2003 and has evolved into a six-piece collective with heavy rhythm and well-crafted songs. "We play a blend. a fusion," states co-founder Dr. Walrus (keyboards), "Dave and I are very much reggae/dub influenced. but also very versatile; drawing from elements of dancehall, classic rock, blues, and punk." As a teenager, Dave (guitar/vocals) played in a signed, Vans Warped Tour, punk band called Slimer. Dave has spent nearly half of his life (25 years) writing songs and performing live. In mid 2004, the band picked up back up vocalist Courtney, who has proven to be a valuable asset, adding a whole lotta soul to the mix. In the summer of 05' the band found LA reggae staple John Asher to lead the way on drums.

Live performance is Ginger Maker's forte. An energetic maylay, combining a mix of original tracks, classic reggae riddims, and live dub engineering. Ginger Maker is sure to keep the crowd dancing on hot coals; Ginger Maker has taken California by storm and is sure the nation will catch fire with their raw, catchy songs and positive vibe.

Ginger Maker and Maker Productions is a 100% DIY (do it yourself) endeavor. Ginger Maker and its productions company (Maker Productions), book all shows/tours (national), produce all recordings, and handle all business independently. The record "Hollywood Free Los Angles" is sold in most Tower Records nationaly, and can be downloaded off of the I-tunes network. Future plans for Maker Productions involve a macro-vision of the evolution of the band and its role in the rapidly growing contemporary Dub/Reggae scene.
