LGB G-scale Santa Fe Model Train Inside The House - Video
PUBLISHED:  May 15, 2015
DESCRIPTION:
Here's my Santa Fe passenger train taking a couple of laps around my house.

I don't have room in my house for a permanent train layout like many model railroad enthusiasts do... so when I feel like bringing my G-scale trains out, I just set them up to run right down our hallway and in to our living room. It's fun to be able to change the layout and try new ideas from time to time rather than being committed to a permanent setup. When we get tired of stepping over train tracks, it all can be easily put away.

In the video you see a LGB model number 21576 Santa Fe locomotive pulling a LGB 21586 "B" unit... followed by a LGB 36570 Streamliner passenger car and a LGB 36571 passenger car.

You can hear train horn sounds beginning at :33 seconds in to the video.

The video was shot with a camera mounted on top of another locomotive which ran right in front of the Santa Fe locomotive. If you listen carefully, you can hear the engine of the camera train speed up and slow down at a couple of points where I wanted to adjust the distance between the camera and the Santa Fe locomotive. (At :51 and at 1:32)

Back in the heyday of train travel, this Santa Fe train was known as the Super Chief. They have a beautifully restored one at the Galveston Railroad Museum in Texas. One of my bucket list items is to go visit it some day!
