I wrote this song shortly after moving back to Iowa. I had lived in California for 14 years where the fascination with "the lawn" didn't really exist.

I don’t want to have to keep up with the Jones’
They all busy killing them purty weeds
That grow to close to their fancy houses
Earl said “son, get yourself some herbicide.
You just gotta, gotta kill them dandelions!”
