A day in their practice studio was loud and juicy, as any real rock session should be, and fried our mic. Unfortunately, the audio from their performance does the band no justice, but you can hear their true talent interlaced throughout the rest of the episode. We decided to keep it raw rather than overlay recorded tracks, cause hey, if it's too loud, you're too old.

Wax Edison is a Portland, OR, based band featuring the peculiar arrangement of two amazingly-smooth bassists and a decimating drummer. Their sound is reminiscent of killer progressive (not pop) punk-rock percussion mixed with some seriously serious bass riffs. With a satisfying undertone of rhythmic, ambiance-driven melodies and intros, the trio produce a sound that is as half their name suggests: a waxy, liquifying meltdown of harmonic noise and nicely timed arrangements.

This episode offers discussions of how the seemingly ever-evolving band, which once offered brass horns and electric guitars in place of double-bass, came to exist, and where they'd like to go.

Be sure to check out their music and SEE THEM LIVE if you ever get a chance. It's a very, very fun show, especially once you get out on the dance floor.
