FRAMUS & WARWICK - Meet the Players - Guy Pratt with his Custom Shop Star Bass SC - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jun 17, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
Guy Pratt presenting his Warwick Custom Shop Bass featuring slidable pickups. Guy's idea was to have a bass with a small body based on the Warwick Starbass Single Cut design and a movable pickup system he had seen on a "Dan Armstrong Bass" he owned which featured a rail sliding pickup system that was originally to be found on the Framus 5/130 from the Framus Hollywood series (also called the Hollywood Electra) invented by Fred Wilfer (founder of Framus and father of today's Framus&Warwick CEO Hans-Peter Wilfer) in 1959. This model was built until the mid 1960's and was available in a in a number of variations including different brides/tremolos and colors. The concept also was found on Framus' 5/148 Hollywood Bass (sometimes also referred to as Hollywood Star Bass).
