At 25 years old, Joel Grant has made himself known as one of UK's multitalented musicians on the music scene. Joel is known for playing more than 1 instrument at a very high standard professionalizing in Drums, Bass and Bass synth, and production. Joel started playing music at the age of three years old listening to his dad's Gospel music; at the age of five he was playing drums in churches all over England since then Joel hasn't looked back. His eclectic style, raging from Gospel, R&B, and Reggae to pop is inspiring, creative and full of energy. Joel's feel can be described as solid, versatile, grooved- based and accurate.
Joel is self-taught playing the Drums and the keyboard from a young age with the encouragement from his father and mother. In 2000 he taught himself how to play the bass playing bass synth, he then copied what he would play on synth bass and put it to live bass. Joel went on to study at the City & Islington College were he developed his musical skills working in areas such as, Production, Group Work, Theory and Music Business
Joel's CV boasts an enviable list of some of the US and UK's finest as well as some international legends. Some of these names include, Jocelyn Brown, Sam Moore, Bratz, Terri Walker, Tyler James, Nate James, Estelle, Laura Izibor, Eric Roberson, Keisha White, Shola Ama and All Saints.
Part of Joel's appeal is his easy going fun personality and his ability to learn new material quickly. His personal standard is always high allowing himself to push past his best potential. Joel has proven to be a true asset to various bands he has travelled with and is respected for his focused attitude as well as having a great sense of humour
Joel has a big purpose in the music industry; he desires to take his music career as far as he can establish himself as a distinguished session musician. Joel aims to have his own business in the near future.
Diversification is the key; Television, Recordings, Albums and Tuition are all part of his future plans. What is certain is that whatever Joel puts his mind and hands to be sure to succeed and that he's destined for greatness as one of the brightest musician stars of the future.
