I was a little shocked to learn that Vince Herman was born and grew up in Pittsburgh (Carnegie, if you want to get technical about it). We were thrilled that he carved out some time between visiting his family and performing at the Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival to come record this Woody Guthrie classic.

We used Peluso's incredible P-87 to capture Vince's signature voice and their P-28 small diaphragm tube condenser on his acoustic.
