Victor Rice - At Version City - Lefty - Video
PUBLISHED:  Nov 18, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
From the CD, "At Version City(Stubborn Records)"

Lefty was originally recorded as a candidate for a theme song to the (then) new program on Nickelodian, "Kablam!" Most of the submissions from that session wound up on other records - including the song used for the theme, The Toasters' "Two Tone Army".

I wrote the theme with Agent Jay in mind to play it - the song was originally titled "West Coast Jay", which became "Left Coast Jay" and finally was reduced to "Lefty".

This recording has some of my all-time favorite solos from all three horn players...
the Miles Davis Effect: get Heads in the same room and let them work it out.

Guitar - Jay Nugent
Trumpet - Rolf Langsjoen
Alto Sax - Paul Gebhardt
Tenor Sax - Dave Hillyard
Bass, Bells - Victor Rice
Drums - Eddie Ocampo
