Ibanez bass guitar machine head replacements - Video
PUBLISHED:  Oct 07, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
I own this 1982 Ibanez Musician fretless bass, MC940. I have had to change the tuning keys because one of them sheared internally and can't be fixed. The original tuning pegs are called "Velve Tune BII" but getting hold of originals or authentic replacements is very difficult as they haven't been made for over 20 years. The best fit solution I found is a set of modern Ibanez MB555 tuners although they are only available in black. They do however fit the 18mm hole very well but the securing screw holes on the back don't line up so I decided to use one securing screw only rather than drill new holes into my bass. I have kept the original chrome tuners in the hope that one day I can find another one and finally bring my bass back to totally original condition. Can anyone help?
