Utility Records

Utility Records is an independent entertainment company based out of Newark, New Jersey. It was founded in January 2004. Utility Records focuses on building up a strong foundation that artist need to put them in position to succeed in the entertainment industries. They first artists were groups Exit 9 and Smoke Shoppers. They work with them for about 6months and press a vinyl single called “Hood on my Back” and “I can’t Tell” both produced by D.J Born. When the artist didn’t work out it they started working on a new project called Jersey It is what it is DVD. The DVD covered artist from all over Jersey, such as Treach of Naughty by Nature, Lords of the underground, Redman, Lady Luck, JD Williams, Outsidez, Joe Budden , Sam Scarfo and so much more. The DVD was the welcome call that Utility records here to make a difference. Why doing the DVD Utility Records hookup with a young lady by the name of Mooka. Not wanting to rush into working with any artist the company seen something special in this artist so they tried her out by letting her write a song for the DVD. The song was called Jersey Anthem. After hearing the song they felt it would come off better if they add other Jersey Artist on the track so he reach out to Hussein Fatal from Outlawz, Young Zee from Outsiderz, Fort Nox, Drift, Mel Official, Nite, and Scarlet Fever. They recorded their part and it was history after that. Utility Records move on the work with Mooka Jerz the name she receives for making the Jersey Anthem. The rest is history to come.
