Afflatus

.at this point now
I feel I'm lifeless
I want to leave this world behind
It has left me pail inside
Your hands they reach to me
But you're reaching for something else

Where can I turn, when I can't turn any more
Where do I go, when I can't go any more

I feel that this is the end
I don't know if it gets better
I've lost so mush sleep
The days run into each other
Sleep was my only salvation
Now that's been taken away

Where can I turn, when I can't turn any more
Where do I go, when I can't go any more

Story Of Song:

“This song along with 3 others were the first songs that we wrote for this record back in 1995. We didn't record “The Survival Kit” until 1997, so in the usual TUNGSTEN fashion we were able to demo the songs a few times. This was one of the first songs that we wrote where we were spreading our wings a little more than we had done on the last record “74”. The song is based around a slow sludge dirge of a riff, then goes into a pure METAL type riffage at the end. This is probably one of my favorites from this album. I tried to get a European vibe on the vocals ala PARADISE LOST. Mark Talamo added some keyboards to the track during the chorus to add some Euro flavor to the track as well. During this phase of TUNGSTEN we were definitely inspired by the Euro sound of mixing Goth Rock and Metal. The word “Afflatus” means “a powerful impulse by an artist” which is sort of a twist of what the lyrics are about really, which are about thinking too much and losing alot of sleep as you are doing this”.
