Mark Crown

Mark has been playing trumpet for 14 years. He started when we was 9 years old and has been heard all over england as well as Europe. Mark finished studying at Trinity College of Music in summer 2010 and was fortunate to study with Steve Waterman and Chris Batchelor.

As well as a performer, Mark is also an educuator and works alongside Camden Music Service to help develop brass in schools.

Mark is also a product from the notorious Tomorrows Warriors scheme and has been greatful to play with Gary Cosby, Denys Baptiste and Jason Yarde.

Mark has played on major records such as Shine by Laura Izibor, Defamation of Strickland Banks by Plan B and Play with the Changes by 4Hero.

Mark has experience to many genres of music ranging from pop, to Afrobeat and of course Jazz. His main influences include Freddie Hubbard, Ryan Kisor, Miles Davis, Kenny Dorham, Wynton Marsalis and Clifford Brown to name a few.

Mark leads his own Quintet and is part of an exciting band called RHYTHMICA who's debut album will be released early 2011.

Other bands Mark plays in include Courtney Pines Afropeans, Neuvo Rhythmica Orchestra and Jazz Jamaica/Nu Troop.

An endorsee of Geneva Instruments, Mark is an exciting young talent ready to hit the scene.
