DESCRIPTION:
Born and raised in the cross-secting neighborhoods of Medfield and Hampden in Baltimore, MD. I moved to Chicago to pursue music in 2002 but will forever call Balmer my home away from home. I love my O's, the ocean, the crabs, and the city. The racial divide in Baltimore and in this country is an issue that doesn't just go away, it festers and intensifies when provoked by the likes of cops unwarranted brutality to black Americans. The brutality and negligence surrounding Freddie Gray's arrest and ultimate death called for mourning. And the protests were largely successful preceding the violence that broke out and continued for that week in April 2015. It is my hope that city and neighborhood leaders can remain strong in Baltimore and help guide this city to a better place. Long live Baltimore!
