'Nerd Facts'

This was made in 1996 when Jaimie fell ill and wasn't about and Sonar pretty much became just me. Matty and I fell out over me not wanting to let him have the studio at his house (as it moved from mine to Jaimie's mum and dad's as the rent became unreasonable in Midland Road) and I put myself under a lot of pressure to get another single on Reinforced . So this period wasn't actively Sonar Circle, but representative of a difficult year for everybody. We have just unearthed an SA-90 full of demos from this period, all were played at Reinforced and none of them made the grade. I can't possibly put them all up here as they were rightly refused for sounding unfinished. It was a frustrating time.

The track was basically trying to copy Lemon D's 'In My Life' on Platinum Breakz. I had just discovered envelope filtering (as alluded to earlier) which basically never stops through the entire song, and the tambourine off of 'Spacefunk'. Breaks used are Sweet Pea, sampled from Peshay 'Catch It' and 'Love Is' from 'Mutant Jazz'. If you care to read this you'll know what that means.
The samples come from the film, 'To Kill With Intrigue' is a standard 70's teacher revenge Kung-Fu flick, one my obsessions through the mid to late 90's. I think Dego was completely right to refuse it (i think for enforcers) as it is over long and light on any real ideas or originality.
