DESCRIPTION:
Tracy Redhead discusses her App, One Drop, an Amorphous Track which allows users to explore a track that can be played in any genre and with any instrumentation. Tracy explores new ways to compose music that people can interact and add meaning to beyond the fixed format of traditional singles and radio edits. Users can record and create their own mp3 versions of the track. Inspired by the growth of remix culture, Tracy investigates how to write a song that can be heard in a variety of genres and can develop new and multiple meanings over time, and studies how people then interact with this material.
The next project is to expand this concept to produce interactive album that listeners can personalise and make their own.
