Sheru by The Town Criers - Video
PUBLISHED:  Mar 08, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
Perhaps one of the most powerful songs in the Town Crier's repetroire of original songs, Sheru is based on a true story, related by a friend, a Captain in the Israeli Army.

In Israel, when a boy reaches the age of 18 he must enlist in the army. As part of his training he is taken into the desert without food or water and left to find his way back. Of course, if he doesn't return after a period of time a search party is sent to look for him, but to this day all have returned without assistance.

The Hebrew words in the song, loosely translated, means "Sing at the top of your voice," and the song captures the desperation and loneliness of the young boy, lost and alone in the desert.

As with all their original songs, the Town Criers wholly own the copyright to this song.
