The Sun Kings are dynamic band from Aliquippa Pennsylvania with a wide range of appeal and influences, which they have molded into a uniquely fresh, fun, original style. The Sun Kings signature style blends smooth funk and reggae grooves, clean melodic and bluesy guitars, with contemporary lyrics and song structure, which produces a vibe and feeling that captivates audiences wherever they perform.

With their life and musical experience, and their unbound talent, The Sun Kings are a definite up and coming talent to be reckoned with. Through their passion and love for music, The Sun Kings strive to reach new heights and gain new fans at their live shows. The Sun Kings consist of Dan Bubien on guitars and lead vocals, Matt Homiak on bass guitar, Kyle Mihalik on drums.

"They put the reggae in the rock ’n’ roll and shook it all up. That’s the recipe for those Beaver County groove meisters, The Sun Kings who released their debut CD, “Rub Up In It.” An accessible, cohesive and catchy disc, “Rub Up In It” offers 12 original songs. The trio, amid thoughtful ruminations on love and relationships, slips in several intriguing phrases." – Scott Tady/Beaver County Times

"It's a polished, fully realized and fun sound. Throughout, Dan Bubien's guitar work is impressive and tasty, his resonant vocals reminiscent of Sublime's Brad Nowell and Dave Matthews. The rhythm section provide just enough cracking rim shots and burbling bottom end to keep the songs (and the Zig-Zags) rolling. And the spacious brittle sound of the recording is perfect for this style." - Aaron Jentzen/Pittsburgh City Paper

"The Sun Kings’ relaxed and mellow style of their debut CD “Rub Up In It”, really allows the listener to be pulled in to the established groove and feel of the compositions overall design. The lyrics are personal, yet identifiable; with Dan Bubien’s vocal performance delivering the lyrical content with an emotional weight that enhances and defines. The guitar work is expressive in both performance and in the use of song fitting tones. The bass work is solid throughout and is further complimented by its lock tight relation with the dynamically propulsive and tasteful drumming. The use of melody is expressive and detailed throughout the composition, with well placed use of sectional contrasts and dynamic movement." – Taxi/A&R Company
