Hi there. I assume if you are reading this you are hoping to take away some sort of interesting insight into the band known as The Reign Of Kindo. Well, the band formed in late 2006. Their sound can be poorly described as jazz inspired progressive pop rock. They grow irritated at the question, “what do you guys sound like?”. They would rather produce the means to inject recordings of themselves into the sub-conscious of the inquisitor, so that they would just know. Until they develop such a technology, the inferior use of words will have to do the job. The music is heavily driven by the piano, perhaps one of the most amazing instruments ever created. It is peppered with guitars. It is tied together with chaotic / composed / frantic / fluid drum and bass grooves. There is singing. There are words. You will also hear the use of horns, strings, midi guitar and a wide array of percussion. Despite the extreme irritation from trying to describe sonic and musical properties rather than you simply hearing it, they hope that you enjoy their music very much. There is a chance that they speak in the third person from time to time.
If you are looking for some facts : On August 21, 2007, the band released their first record, an EP entitled simply The Reign of Kindo EP. The EP was a regional sales success, reaching #5 on the Billboard Middle Atlantic Heatseekers chart. In January 2008, they began recording for their first full-length record, entitled Rhythm, Chord & Melody and released through 111 Records on August 19, 2008. In June 2009 The Reign of Kindo and 111 Records parted ways on very good terms. The group then signed with Candyrat Records. On December 30, 2009, Candyrat put out the first Youtube video of The Reign of Kindo performing the song "Just Wait." It became an immediate hit as within the first 24 hour period it was one of the most highly rated and commented videos among Youtube's music category of videos. On April 28, 2010, the band officially confirmed their third record, an LP titled "This Is What Happens". It was released through Candyrat Records on August 3, 2010. The band has toured the full US several times and is currently planing their second tour of Japan while also composing new material for their next release.
