The inaugural exhibition at the new 1,200 square foot Project Onward Gallery features drawings and ephemera by the late outsider artist, musician, and Chicago icon Wesley Willis, alongside the architectural sculptures of his brother, Project Onward artist Ricky Willis. A well known street artist who chronicled Chicago's skyline and transit system in sweeping pen and marker drawings, Wesley Willis went on to cult fame as a musician before his death in 2003. Ricky's body of work has grown to equal that of his older brother's, but in three dimensions -- with recreations in cardboard and wood of Chicago landmarks, CHA highrise buildings, water tanks, buses and trains, and gas station signs.
