The good just got better. You may remember my demo of the earlier Gamut by ARC Effects, yes? Now Aaron has added a 'Gain' control that lets you subtly balance the volume/gain with your chosen amp and guitar combo. Very thoughtful and very handy.

If you haven't experienced the Gamut before you may be missing out. Basically, the Gamut is an old-school Treble Booster (think Dallas Rangemaster) crossed with a full-range booster. You can tell the pedal how much of the frequency to send to your amp and now, with the Gain control, how much gain. This is a simple but very potent idea that has to be experienced to be believed. Many of the great classic rock, blues and glam sounds from the late 60's and 70's were driven by the Treble Booster/amp combo. Hopefully you'll be able to hear shades of those sounds in my demo.

As usual I only have great things to say about Aaron's work: It's always top-notch and he doesn't charge an arm and a leg. Two thumbs up.
