The Lord's Prayer: Our Father set to music by T.H. Culhane - Video

DESCRIPTION:
The Lord's Prayer, Our Father, set to music, dedicated to our father John Culhane, who introduced us to his church and ministry of happiness and helped us find our faith through his.
A devout Catholic who took us to an audience with the Pope in the Vatican when I was 14 as he rediscovered his faith, Dad never failed to bring intellect and heart to the subject of religion and earthly responsibility.

Decades ago I used to attend the Santa Monica church in LA and they would perform the Lord's Prayer as a rock ballad. I loved singing along to it each Sunday and haven't heard anything like it since. I've recreated the melody they used for the first paragraph but I felt that it could be stronger when it got to the "Give us this day our daily bread and lead us not into temptation" part, and that it needed to build to a bigger epiphany in the end. So I composed my own chords and harmonies for the last 2/3rd of the song and performed it in a church in Alaska in 2010 to great success. With the Pope's momentous visit to the US this week I wanted to do a quick recording of this version of the song God inspired in me so that others may be able to sing along and find the same joy in a musical call and response version of our prayer as I did. Hopefully I can get into a proper studio with some folks and do a more professional recording, but this gives you an idea of what the prayer might sound like set to music in a way most meaningful to me.,
(It is also my hope that, using the"melodic-mnemonic" method I've been championing for so many years in science education, children of all ages can also learn to memorize this powerful prayer effortlessly...)
