After an original composition of Frank Emilio Flynn intitled ''Gandinga Mondongo y Sandunga''

Los Amigos is the first and only genuine Latin jazz band in India. Since its foundation in 2006 by Monojit Datta and Pradyumna S. Manot, they have been joined by Premjit Dutta in 2099 and then by French artist Emmanuel SImon in 2011 and Salvadorian artist Sergio Dinarte in 2012.The band's talent, creativity, and passion have defined it as one of India's renowned jazz ensembles.

The band is named as a tribute and pays homage to the original ''Los Amigos'', emblematic and legendary cuban band which contributed greatly to the history of Afro Cuban music and especially to latin-jazz and jazz cubano. This band was composed originally by Guillermo Barretto, Frank Emilio, Aristides Soto "Tata Güines", Gustavo Tamayo et Orlando "Cachaito" Lòpez,

The band has toured and performed at venues in many parts of India. They have performed at prestigious music and arts events such as the Congo Square Jazz Festival, Kolkata and the Kala Ghoda festival, Mumbai.

The band has started its international career in no less than the biggest jazz festival in the world, the Java Jazz festival in 2011, sharing the stage with topmost jazz and Latin music legends such as George Benson, George Duke, Roy Hargrove, Carlos Santana, Afro-Cuban All Stars, etc.

Los Amigos have released three albums, Collecion Privada (2007), In Dawn (2009) and Thank You For Being There (2010). They have made an enduring impact on audiences with their music and broadened the listenership for Latin Jazz in the country.
