The Chevelles

It was the summer of 1989-90. The twin peaks of revivalist 60's psychedelia and post punk garage rock and roll had collided in Australia. Out of the West Australian surf crawled 4 long haired boys determined to make their own special guitar noise . The Chevelles were born.

20 years later never re born . still alive and kicking out the jams !. The Chevelles have played over 1000 live shows, extensively toured Australia and the US, Brazil and Europe over 15 times in their career, playing in small sweaty rooms, massive outdoor stadium concerts and wild beach festivals . They have earnt their badges and their reputation as 'Australian Cult Garage Power Pop Legends'.
The band debuted featuring members of The Stems, The Kryptonics, The Freuds and the Diehards. From their 1992 debut Album Kids Ain't Hip through subsequent worldwide releases "Gigantic" (1995) Rollerball Candy (1999) then Girl God (2003), the band has showcased a wave of blistering guitars, soaring harmonies and head shaking tunes. They have released over 20 recordings including 6 full length albums and 4 'best of' compilations.
In the summer of 2008 they threw their whole back catalogue in the car and sped to New York City. Meeting up with some other hipsters they found a new garage home and signed a new five album worldwide recording and publishing deal with the coolest record label on the planet "Little Steven's" Wicked Cool Record Company USA. The last 2 years has seen the release of the whole Chevelles back catalogue on iTunes and the worldwide release of the compilation 'Introducing The Chevelles- Barbarella Girl God" and the release of the 5th studio album "Accelerator".
In 2010, their 20th Anniversary Year, The Chevelles grab their boards and guitars and fire up their full blown 350 chevy again and head down the highway with an extensive 20th Anniversary World Tour through the US (including SXSW 2010) , Australia, Europe and Brazil.
