I had the privledge of filming a short music video for the heavy metal nympho's - Soundskraper. Close personal friend and lead singer, Syman, invited me over to his house to check out his band. As I was rollin' up the block I could hear Jimmy's bass drum start to over-take my radio station as they rehearsed. I shut the radio off and the thunderous snarl from Tim's bass ax growled and chewed at the beats of Jimmys drums, some how blending the loud racket into a hormonous, yet tragically evil, power ballad. B-Rad -)guitar genius(- smashed at his ax, seemingly able to tell his sorrowed life story through his amplified strings. As I pulled up I could hear Syman begin his monsterous vocal set, daring for ANY of his neighbors to to ring the doorbell and even attempt a complaint. Syman stands well over 6' and takes shit from no one, but will deliver shit on a silver platter served with all the fixin's and a side of re-fried beans. No fork! This song is called 'Bow Down' and it is not pre-recorded. I had them perform the song 3 different times and I blended the footage together to make this vid, and I used the audio from one of the takes captured with my cameras factory mic. The sound isn't all that great but I have to say I'm impressed by the quality it did capture, considering how loud these fuckers play. Soundskraper will be in the studio in the new year to record their new album & we will be making an official music video for at least one of the songs. Maybe more!
