HOW TO CHANGE THE POPULATION LIMIT:

1)
Windows XP: Go to: "C:Documents and Settings[USERNAME]Local SettingsGas Powered GamesSupreme Commander 2"

Windows Vista/7: Go to: "C:Users[USERNAME]AppDataLocalGas Powered GamesSupreme Commander 2"

2) Open "Game.pref" with notepad or another text editor.

3) Use Ctrl+F and search for "UnitCap"

4) Change the number beside it to "1000" (or whatever you like) and save the file.

5) Enjoy. This will also transfer over to clients if you are the person hosting a multiplayer game. In addition to that, the population limit will indeed be displayed as the correct number in-game. Keep in mind that having armies of these magnitudes can SERIOUSLY slow down the game if you do not have a high-end computer.
