YAMAHA SU-10 HOUSE - Video
PUBLISHED:  Aug 31, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
A little early 90's inspired house track using a Yamaha SU-10.
Released in '95.If you couldnt afford an mpc/s series (or pretty much any sampler) at the time,or wanted a portable sketch pad then one of these was a great way to get samples into your productions on a budget.
ALL sounds are coming from the SU-10, no pre or post production, just normalization to get the level up.
The internal sequencer is just a 'playback what you played' type with no quantization options, so as i have fat fingers and non perfect timing, its pretty much a must to use an external sequencer(in this case, the drum section of the Electribe EM-1)to get things tight.
As i have no room to list all the bad things and limitations of the SU-10, the good things however are:- Can be found very CHEAP!...£30-£50.
NASTY(good) sound.
12 mini pads to bash, each can be set to a midi note of your choice (received and sent).
Split a drum break/any sample across multiple pads.
Trigger/loop/hold/oneshot/reverse options.
3 groups to choke samples within a group.
FUN.
