Southie is My Home Town - A South Boston Irish Favorite - 78rpm Record 1950 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Mar 17, 2009
DESCRIPTION:
Here is special St. Patrick's Day Tribute to South Boston with Freddie Hall singing "Southie is My Home Town", on a 78rpm Parlay Record. When I was a little boy, many years ago, my parents had this record and played it all the time. So naturally when I found it many years later in a 2nd hand shop, I had to have a copy. Here it is being played on an Electric "The Voice of Music" record player from the 1950's. Hope you enjoy this, especially all you Boston Irish folks from good ole South Boston, and anywhere else in the World as well. This one also contains a seldom heard 2nd verse about those heros from Southie who fought in WW2. Keep in mind that this record was produced only few years after the end of WW2 so those references to the members of the former Axis powers is historically correct and with no intent to offend anyone.
