Tyrone ‘Tuffy’ Nelson, native New Orleanian, comedian, and second line footwear master celebrated his birthday on 7/9/16 by throwing a free birthday bash at the Treme Center. Tuffy’s wife Nettie Nelson organized his birthday party complete with Mardi Gras Indians, second line bands, and one of a kind birthday memorabilia including: an ice sculpture of his name ‘Tuffy”; a replica of his childhood home 1424 N. Derbigny and the block that nurtured and influenced him; a painted picture of his likeness, raffles, free food and full bar. It was full blown over the top EPIC!!!
