HANK STONE

Hank Stone grew up in New York City, between Kennedy airport and Aqueduct racetrack, and played in rock'n'roll bands in his teens and twenties. He moved his young family to Long Island, and put performing on the back burner, though he never stopped writing songs. In the 21st Century Hank came back out on the scene, hitting every open mic and taking every performance opportunity he was offered. By 2011, he had relocated to Patchogue, and was hosting a weekly open mic at Roast Coffee and Tea Trading Company, also booking the monthly Rule The Roast series.

Hank's voice has been compared to everyone from Willie Nelson to John Mellencamp, and his unique guitar style is instantly recognizable. He sometimes uses partial and multiple capos on the guitar.

His songs, influenced by everything from pop to rock to folk to blues to jazz to classical to reggae, have received several awards, and been included on national compilations.

In 2009, Hank, along with Todd Evans and Mike Christian, started his trio Rough Folk and in mid-2013, Hank and Todd reinvented themselves as a larger band, with Bob Westcott on bass, Gary Settoducato on percussion, and Bill Ayasse sitting in occasionally on mandolin and fiddle.

Hank finally released his second CD, "Until I Saw That Train." in November 2012, to great acclaim.

He has become a fixture on the Patchogue scene, and sits on the music committee of the Patchogue Arts Council, as well as on an advisory committee to the Patchogue Theatre.

Hank has also contributed harmonica to several local artists' CDs, such as John Sparling, Robin Eve, and Eli Maniscalco, and will blow some harp whenever asked.
