Stanley Forbes - Songs From My Room 5 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jan 04, 2009
DESCRIPTION:
A song about the new year. It's supposed to have four-part harmony, but I feel like sh#t today so don't want to organise it. Maybe I'm coming down with something.

Happy New Year everyone. Here are the lyrics:

Winter has settled,
And the citys in disguise,
Theres frost in the puddles,
And the cold wets the eyes.
Earmuffs, woolly scarves, and Pompom hats,
Sleeping in my jumper cos I broke the thermostat,

Breath turning silver in the biting winter chill,
Eating clementines for vitamins in the hope I dont get ill.
Hot chestnuts in the streets,
People shiver as they kiss,
Dont wanna take the metro
Cos it smells of shit and piss.

If theyd only swap the trains for Gondolas
Then we could sail down a river of slime,
Use mouldy baguettes to punt us along,
As we drift in to 2009.

The fear this year is that well have no money left,
No money for food or alcohol or cigarettes,
Well be cracking our teeth as the credit crunch bites,
Gluing glowworms to the ceiling cos we cant afford
Real lights.

If theyd only make our bills a bit cheaper,
Old people could avoid the Grim Reaper,
Heating bills are too much for our Granny dear,
Maybe we should invade Iran this year?
