PETE JACQUES
Pete Jacques is a Swiss jazz musician, pianist, composer, arranger and bandleader.
Jacques started to play the piano aged 4 and when his parents moved from Czechoslowakia to Switzerland, he visited the Winterthur music academy as a youngster. He became a professional musician in 1956 and worked with the bands of Jörgen Gottlieb, Ernie Englund, Åke Persson and Putte Wickman.
He participated in the original recording of Toots Thielemans' "Bluesette" and joined Bavaria Films in 1964 where he wrote numerous arrangements for radio and television programs.
He enlarged his musical horizon in Brasil, Japan, the US and the UK, before returning to Switzerland in 1973. There he was appointed as arranger-conductor for the "Schweizer Radio DRS", a function that he executed until the orchestra broke up in 1986.
He then started working for Swiss TV as a host for some jazz music shows, eg "Jazz in Concert" and "Jazz-in".
He recorded some easy listening albums as "The Pete Jacques Orchestra" and as "Pete Jacques and the DRS Big Band". He also worked together with Michel Legrand during the recording sessions for the album "Legrand, Jacques & Co" (1986).

MHO
With the summer slowly saying goodbye to us here again, what could be better than a gentle bossa nova to "keep us in the summer mood for a little while longer" ;-)....
And remembering the high temperatures that "hit" us back in july... why not add a "cool touch" to it all and dream once more about those "lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer" ? (Hmmm, sounds a bit "Colish" no ;-) ?
Anyway, this is a soft and gentle bossa that seems to float through the air and if ever one would want to have an example of "light and easy" music...this would be a perfect candidate I guess. Perfect music if you just want to "sit back and relax".
Something we all should do regularly .... that world out there is "stressy" enough ;) ...
So enjoy and relax !
