Snow Bud and the Flower People make Rock n Roll music. Music to get stoned to. They have been known to experiment with all drugs known to man. It was after much experimentation ,that they have come to the conclusion that weed will fuck up your life the least of all the evils.

The music and lyrics are an interpretation of mastermind, Chris Newman's discovery of the mid sixties underground music he discovered the summer of 1967.It was also then that he was turned on to weed, underground albums and other trips his musician friends inherited from their older brothers. This music has no stylistic boundrys, since it was initially played and recorded to entertain Newman and his stoner friends. The first two cassettes were recorded on his 4 track Teac recorder and mixed to stereo with limited effects, besides those effects used on the instruments themselves, such as Wah-Wah pedal, Fuzztone, and a little Flanger. The general attitude and feel of the first two recordings was "Who gives a fuck, don't worry about mistakes, one, maybe two takes!" says Chris. The low-fi masterpiece was an immediate local hit. Seattle's Sub Pop expressed interest at their first show in 1986. Let's just say, Chris Newman had a hard time following through on the business of music. He was a self admitted dopefiend, who eventually would take some dangerous and spontaneous journeys and side routes in his free form lifestyle. Snow Bud continued through the 90's picking up Lance Paden on Drums, and Nathan Jorg on Bass, who both happen to still be working with Newman to this day.Their most recent and promising endeavor consists of classic Snow Bud tunes, two lost remakes "Uppers, Downers, Inners, Outters" and "Flashback" (both omitted from the Biggest Hits CD issued by Flying Heart) as well as a new number, "Stoner Girl" all recorded with Seattles Master of The Big Sound (Grunge?), Jack Endino. They worked quickly and efficiently together. Endino and Newman are a combined powerhouse , and plan on future works together. The album entitled ,"Flashback" is being shopped around, and it will celebrate 2011 as their 25th anniversary
