I vividly remember when shout gambia started off as just a really creative name for a mixtape that we were working on in 2009 in Pipeline.
it would be Ooz , Gee, omid, ace, cyco, and myself among others, in that studio everyday dropping freestyles, writing spontaneously to beats and just generally vibing and having fun! (cant lie, there was alot of arguing too) but who says brothers dont fight!
When Bankie heard about the mixtape shout gambia he wanted to take that name to a whole other level... he wanted to take it to its fullest potential...so he asked us to put the release of the mixtape on hold for he had a far bigger project in mind for SHOUT GAMBIA! a year and a half later of hard work and BOOM! the documentary, DVD, and CD was created-giving a whole new platform to Gambian artists and the industry within.
yall are witnessing what happens when a group of young talented and hungry brothers get together and vibe for the love of HIPHOP and music in general!
below is just one of the many tracks recorded for the original mixtape during that period! other joints included were bangers like LAST TIME by gee and ooz, i didnt want u to kno, chill suma side, Love to rime and alot of others that probably wont even get heard! hopefully some will get released but in the meantime enjoy this raw street banger wit smokey killa Gee ooz and myself Kanasu.
