Nirvana - Sliver (Wishkah) [Lyrics] - Video

DESCRIPTION:
Song: Sliver
1st Studio Release: Sliver (1990)
Show: Civic Center, Springfield, MA
Date: 10 November 1993

This is perhaps the most surprising inclusion on the compilation, a frankly mediocre version of one of the most popular Nirvana songs. Kurt seems to be fighting with his voice throughout the track and the band doesn't play the song as tightly as usual.

The show itself is a good 'In Utero' show containing good performances and a lot of humour. The main highlight is Kurt's screw up in 'Dumb' along with his self-depreciating comments afterwards.

From the live album "From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah"

Lyrics

Mom and dad went to a show
Dropped me off at Grandpa Joe's
Kicked and screamed, said please don't go

Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
I wanna be alone

Had to eat my dinner there
Mashed potatoes and stuff like that
Couldn't chew my meat too good

Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
I wanna be alone

She said, my God, don't start your crying
Go outside and ride your bike
That's what I did, I killed my toe

Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
I wanna be alone

After dinner, I had ice cream
Fell asleep and watched TV
Woke up in my mother's arms

Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
Grandma take me home
I wanna be alone
