DESCRIPTION:
Jumakae performing "Strictly Roots", accompanied by MJ (djembe) & Spencer Conley (guitar), at the Typhoon Sendong Benefit Show at Pizza Pi in Long Beach, CA on February 9, 2012.

The benefit show was in response to Typhoon Sendong, which hit the Southern Philippines on December 17, 2011, killing over 1,500 people and displacing thousands of others from their homes. The event was sponsored by Anakbayan Los Angeles, Filipino Migrant Center (FMC), National Alliance for Filipino Concerns (NAFCON), Habi Arts, and SiGAw.

All proceeds from the show went directly to aiding typhoon victims through Balsa Mindanao (balsamindanao.net) and its local chapter, Panday Bulig Inc. (www.cdrc-phil.com/pandaybulig), a disaster relief organization in Cagayan De Oro City, Philippines.
