A Group Called Shiloe Crowder Mississippi Garage Band Sing About Rumors And Lies - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jun 11, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
In 1972, deep in Southern Mississippi, in the tiny town of Crowder, a group of kids went into their parents garage and cut this tune," Rumors And Lies". They then named themselves "A Group Called Shiloe", and, low and behold, got someone to record them on vinyl. I am glad it happened. Glad I discovered them. This raw garage tune reminds me of my high school prom. We had a band like that. I remember the low lights and the crude band playing the 'slow drag tune'. We jumped to the dance floor, and magic is born - that unforgettable prom dance.....usually with a boy/girl we didn't really like. Who got to go to the prom with the one they really loved? Nobody. Prom dates were 'stand in' suckers. So, we closed our eyes and danced....... pretending he/she was our true love. It still felt good. Thank you, A Group Called Shiloe, for this memory.
