DESCRIPTION:
Over the past 15 years, Roots & Rhythms (R&R), an annual Santa Fe-based Native American performing arts festival, has become one of the nation's leading showcases of contemporary & traditional Native music, dance, storytelling and comedy. R&R is held the same weekend as the prestigious Santa Fe Indian Market (produced by SWAIA-Southwestern Association for Indian Arts, which features world renowned artists and their works of art in all formats). A welcomed addition to the weekend's activities, R&R has evolved into the performing arts component of this celebration of Native American & Indigenous artistry. R&R provides a prestigious venue, professional production, generates national and international media exposure for participating artists and has been produced by Emergence Productions since 2004. In 2010, R&R will be moving 15 miles north of Santa Fe to the 2010 R&R title sponsors venue: Buffalo Thunder Resort & Casino! During August 19, 20, 21, 22, 2010 Emergence Productions and Buffalo Thunder Resort & Casino will feature 20+ artists over 4 days, on 2 stages in 1 beautiful venue. Additionally "Native American Greeters" and entertainers will be featured in the hotel foyer.
