Splendor Solis (lat. The Splendour of the Sun) was formed in the summer 2010 in the North of Russia.
Splendor Solis use symbolism of the Apocalypse, Catholic theological traditions, the atmosphere and attributes of the European Middle Ages.
But similar images serve only as “a visual cover” and are used by us for the expression of the ideas which have their sources buried deeply within Theosophy and the Buddhism.


Sublime melancholy medieval folk music from Russia.
Accoustic & traditional instruments combine neo classical composition with apocalyptic folk in the European tradition invoking the atmosphere of the dark ages.

One of the most anticipated dark folk albums of 2015 has been finally released. Splendor Solis from Arkhangelsk, Russia have intrigued the world participing on a Ruthenia: From West to East compillation with their promising track Contritum. And now the monumental construction of their second long-play album is finally completed.
