SCHTIMM is a Norwegian band originating from a small place called Saltdal, situated some kilometres north of the Arctic Circle.SCHTIMM has thus far released four albums and one Ep, played about 150 concerts in countries like Norway, Sweden, Germany, Russia, Hungary, Slovakia, Denmark, and Switzerland, been playlisted on national radio and performed live on national TV in Norway and Germany.



SCHTIMM's music is mostly described as rather low-voiced and fragile - with both acoustic and electronic elements ending up in a rather strange and gloomy, yet melodic indiepop soundscape. But the band also has an inclination towards sharper edges and louder darkness. Alcojazz/dunkel-pop/Northnorwegiana are genre-descriptions most frequently used by the band itself.



At the end of 2002, Schtimm pulled off a relatively abnormal series of concerts in Norway: Concerts where the audience experienced the music solely through headphones. Doing concerts through headphones was meant to give the audience a close and different musical experience, and according to the audience and critics: It certainly did.
