Una produzione eccezionale celebra i 30 anni di vita di JazzAscona. Per festeggiare il proprio compleanno il festival ha infatti riunito un parterre di fantastici trombettisti e musicisti per un omaggio alla musica e alla leggenda di Louis Armstrong che si annuncia come uno delle serate da non perdere della 30. edizione. Fra ospiti ed eventi a sorpresa suoneranno, fra gli altri, quattro fra le migliori trombe di New Orleans - Wendell Brunious, Leroy Jones, Gregg Stafford e il premio Grammy Nicholas Payton - oltre al grande Marcus Belgrave, artista che ha suonato con il Gotha del jazz mondiale (Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Dinah Washington, Charles Mingus, Max Roach, Aretha Franklin, McCoy Tyner, BB King fra i tanti) ma noto specialmente per aver suonato una vita al fianco di Ray Charles. Fra i musicisti della serata anche il noto trombonista Lucien Barbarin e due vincitori dell'Ascona JazzAward nelle passate edizioni: Rossano Sportiello al piano e Gerald French alla batteria. A special production will celebrate 30 years of JazzAscona. To celebrate its birthday, the festival has united some of the greatest trumpet players and musicians as a homage to the music and legend of Louis Armstrong, which is definitely one of the must-see events of the 30th edition. Among the guests and surprise events four of the very best trumpet players from New Orleans will be performing - Wendell Brunious, Leroy Jones, Gregg Stafford and Grammy Award Winner Nicholas Payton alongside Marcus Belgrave, one of the Original Ray Charles band members, who was mentored by Ray Charles from a young age and has performed with the who's who of jazz, including Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Dinah Washington, Charles Mingus, Max Roach, Aretha Franklin, McCoy Tyner, David Newman, B.B.King, just to name a few. Among the musicians are also the great trombonist Lucien Barbarin and two winners of the Ascona JazzAward of past editions: Rossano Sportiello at the piano and Gerald French at the drums.
