Sam Dickinson was born in Toronto. He began piano when he was 5, then switched to guitar at the age of 8. He was in the Humber College Community Music program for 6 years beginning in 2004. Sam has played at venues all over Eastern and Western Canada as well as in Manhattan, Boston, Washington DC, Louisville, around the Burgundy area of France, and in Atina Italy. He has studied with musicians like Mick Goodrick, Ben Monder, Brad Shepik, Joe Morris, Ted Quinlan, Lorne Lofsky, David Occipinti, Geoff Young, and Emile D'eon. Sam is mainly a jazz player, but loves to play rock, Brazilian music, and other styles, as well as incorporating them into his jazz playing.
