Sam Dickinson & the Fletchtones are a Soul / Pop band from Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK. They have been compared to fellow UK soul acts such as Gabrielle and Simply Red. Their music aims to follow in the footsteps of the aforementioned artists and provide songs with poignant lyrics which strike a chord with the listener. They formed in the spring of 2009 and have went on to play alongside Basshunter, Amanda Wilson of the Freemasons and Nicki French.

The band debuted to great acclaim in July 2009 at Northern Pride in Newcastle to over 6,000 people with their catchy pop songs and interpretations of well known songs. Following what was to become a headlining slot closing the show, they charted in the top 40 of Youtube's 'Most watched Musicians' chart the week after and went on a successful tour of the North East culminating in a Street Party alongside Freemasons Act, Amanda Wilson. Following the summer of 2009 Sam Dickinson began working with up and coming North East songwriters Bryan McClements and Rob Elsdon who went on to write the tracks 'Mistake Again' and the band's debut single 'I've Gone, I've Quit' which was released in July 2010 and is a sign of things to come. The as of yet untitled debut album is scheduled for a winter 2010 release along with a brand new single. The album also includes songwriting credits from other up and coming songwriters including award winning Jayne Lewis (First Love), competition winning Beryl Van Nierek (Broken Hearted) and Martin Fletcher (Sense Out of This).

As well as Sam Dickinson, 22, the Fletchtones consist of Jack 'the vest' Redpath, 21, on Drums, Dean Warwick, 22, on Bass, Charlie Little, 22, on Lead Guitar and Cav Mulryan, 22, on Rhythm Guitar. 2010 sees the band having headlined Northern Pride's second stage the 'Pride Radio Stage' but also see's them playing Manchester Pride for the first time alongside acts such as Kelis, Beverley Knight and Belinda Carlisle. They are also playing a joint tour of academy size venues with the UK's number one Pink tribute act 'I'm Not Pink' throughout August and September. They have been included in Diva Magazines 'What's Hot this Month' section, July Edition. They have had in excess of 40,000 online visits as well as over 27,000 streams.
