Sounds From The Corner : Live #7 RNRM - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jun 27, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
I searched the dictionary sometime ago and I found out that the word "prodigal" could be defined through two different ways. First explanation tells that prodigal equals "wastefully extravagant" whilst other define Prodigal as "recklessly spendthrift."

Well, under layers of nippy purple-ish set of lighting at The Foundry No.8, Rock N Roll Mafia was indeed extravagant, yet very far from wasteful. Strong repetitive chant of "Stuck & Reverse" break in just perfect as an opener at Collab, a collective initiative held by Organic Records to gather great music and put them into one place. A kind of one-stop gig that pretty much gives you the big idea of today's music.

The set was pretty intense, plus there was JMono -- mastermind of @NeuroticINA -- helping the band delivering forceful groove and proper amount of swag. Another essential addition on the set was @maliqmusic's keys player Ilman. Dream team.

The thing with Prodigal -- Rock N Roll Mafia's newest piece - is: it is definitely worth the wait. My mind is blown many times realizing that Outbox released six years ago and still relevant until today. Plus, listening to Prodigal was like hearing music from the future, sent by time machine. Prodigal is fast, rich and succulent, deliberately making other electronic projects sound like your granny trying to learn Fruity Loops. The reason why our team decide to record their live session is plain simple; they're pioneers and genuinely cool.

Even for a proclaimed electronic leviathan at the local scene, to be frank RNRM deserve more exposure. Especially when names like Peter Hook, Kyoto Jazz Massive, The Radio Dept and Televon Tel Aviv are giving their nods for the Bandung bred gentlemen. But in the end, as long you play music like Rock N Roll Mafia and act as cool as them, acknowledgement is the last thing you need. Guys, enjoy Rock N Roll Mafia! - TW
