Matthew and his band perform at the James Burton International Guitar Festival held in Shreveport Louisiana, on August 22, 2014. Shreveport is James Burton's hometown, along with many other music industry greats. Matthew is one of the youngest of those himself. James was celebrating his 75th birthday, and Matthew was glad to be a part of that, since James Burton gave Matthew his first electric guitar way back in 2007.

Matthew Davidson is a Shreveport musician who is currently 16 years old. His band ( Here, Riley Grisham on bass and Ben Kitterlin on drums) is one of Shreveport's most active and prolific, playing all across the South, from Dallas to Nashville. They have over 280 performances under their belt. Matthew has been inducted into Robert Johnson's Brotherhood of the Guitar, he has appeared in the Guitar Center catalog, was part of Kidd Kraddick's Rock Camp in 2011, and has played at Jazz Fest twice. He attends the same high school in Shreveport that Kenny Wayne Shepherd attended, and was honored to play on stage with Kenny, at the 59twenty Music Festival in Meridian MS. Matthew's first CD was produced by famed guitarist Joe Osborn, who played often with Elvis and Ricky Nelson, among many others, and who discovered The Carpenters. Joe is a friend and mentor of Matthew. Matthew just released an EP (Cross My Heart) with original songs composed by Matthew, and Matthew and Greg Walton. He has won numerous awards and prizes in his four years as a public performer. His latest achievement / honor was to have been the opening act for Austin Mahone in Baton Rouge on July 12th, 2014. Matthew is a seasoned blues performer, excels at playing pop songs, and is truly a gifted songwriter. Please check out the many other videos I have up of him and share anything you like.
